About this place
Iwai Onsen is a hot spring in Iwami, Iwami District, Tottori Prefecture (formerly Inaba Province). It is said to have a history of 1,300 years, and a unique bathing method called 'yukamuri' has been handed down. On March 30, 1973 (Showa 48), it was designated a National Recuperation Hot Spring Resort. Former notation - Sodium sulfate-containing gypsum spring (gypsum bitter spring, sodium sulfate bitter spring) (* For the new and old notations, see spring quality) It lies in an open place where several tributaries join the Gamo River, and the hot spring town has formed on both sides of a side road branching from National Route 9. There are three lodging facilities.
