About this place
Misasa Onsen is a hot spring in Misasa, Tohaku District, Tottori Prefecture. One of the Hundred Views of Japan. As of 2017, the annual number of bathers is second in Tottori Prefecture after Kaike Onsen. It is one of the hot springs making up the Tottori Nashi no Hana Onsen-kyo. Radioactive / sodium chloride spring It is divided north and south by the Mitoku River into two hot spring groups, the Misasa group (Misasa district) and the Yamada group (Yamada district). It is Japan's largest radon hot spring area, and radon hot springs with a temperature of 34 degrees Celsius or higher are a rare type of radioactive spring even worldwide.
