About this place
Akaiiwa Shrine is a shrine in Nanbu, Saihaku District, Tottori Prefecture. Its former shrine rank was unranked shrine (mukakusha). Sashikuniwakahime no Mikoto (Sashikuni-wakahime) It stands at the location of the setting for the story that continues the myth of the White Hare of Inaba, in the first volume of the 'Kojiki' and Volume 4, Chigi Hongi, of the 'Sendai Kuji Hongi.' The founding date of the shrine's predecessor, Akai Shrine, is unknown, but the site of this shrine is said to be the setting of the story.
