Overview

A Yayoi-period site in Daisen at the foot of the mountain, among the largest settlement remains in Japan.

About this place

A Yayoi-period site on the Bandayama hills straddling Yonago and Daisen. Thought to have been the central large settlement of a kingdom at the foot of Mt. Daisen, the site covers about 170 ha. More than 450 pit dwelling sites, more than 500 post-hole building sites, and 36 burial mounds, including four-cornered projecting burial mounds, have been found. You can also try Yayoi experiences such as fire-making and making magatama beads.
