Overview
A shrine partway up Mount Daisen, the centre of the mountain's worship, with a long stone-paved approach.
About this place
A shrine on Mt. Daisen in Daisen. The center of Daisen worship, it is divided into two shrines: the Okumiya on the mountainside and the main shrine at the foot. At the end of an approach about 700 meters long paved with natural stones stands a gongen-zukuri sanctuary. A nationally designated Important Cultural Property, its interior is surrounded by murals and carvings. Festivals such as the Spring Grand Festival, the Daisen Summer Mountain Opening Festival, and the Autumn Grand Festival are held every year.
