About this place
Motonosumi Shrine is a shrine in Tsuki, Yuya, Nagato, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Its former name was Motonosumi Inari Shrine. It is not a religious corporation or any other kind of corporation, but the private property of an individual. For that reason it does not belong to the Association of Shinto Shrines or the Yamaguchi Prefecture Shinto Association. In 1955 (Showa 30), a white fox appeared at the bedside of Hitoshi Okamura, a local fishing boss (amimoto), with the oracle 'Enshrine me in this place,' and it was built as Motonosumi Inari Shrine.
