Pear picking in Toyota, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi. The pears grown here are called Toyota pears, with about 6 varieties cultivated. In 2026 the farms are open from August 25 to September 25, without days off during the period. Registration is at the pear-picking information desk at the roadside station Hotaru Kaido Nishi-no-ichi, and every farm offers all-you-can-eat freshly picked pears with no time limit.
