Shimonoseki Municipal Shimonoseki Aquarium is an aquarium in Kapoto in the Karato district, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It opened on April 1, 2001 (Heisei 13). Its nickname is Kaikyokan. Under the designated administrator system, it is managed and operated by the Shimonoseki Marine Science Academy (public interest incorporated foundation).
