Overview
A swimming beach at Higashikiwa in Ube, shallow and open through the summer.
About this place
Kiwa La Beach is a swimming beach facing Suo-nada (the Seto Inland Sea) in Higashikiwa, Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture. In summer 1996 (Heisei 8), Ube City redeveloped the Kiwa swimming beach and opened it. Besides summer swimming, clam digging is possible from April to September every year. On windy days, kiteboarding is also possible. Because it is shallow, at low tide you have to walk quite a distance to reach a depth where you can swim. There is a burial mound on the small hill behind the sandy beach. 54-3 Shikanomae, Higashikiwa, Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture
