Overview
Make your own Hagi ware, a pottery of 400 years, whose colour changes with use as the clay is left to show.
About this place
An experience of making Hagi ware in Hagi, Yamaguchi. Hagi ware, with a tradition of 400 years, is a warm pottery that makes use of the texture of the clay, and is called Hagi no Nanabake (Hagi's seven transformations) because its color changes as you use it. You can make a piece on the potter's wheel under an artisan's guidance, and some facilities have painting and hand-building plans.
