Overview
Streets that keep the feel of the Edo period. They lie in Tsuwano, Shimane.
About this place
A popular street for sightseeing in Tsuwano, a castle town that retains the atmosphere of the Edo period. Historic sites such as the site of the domain school Yorokan, the site of the district office and the Tsuwano Catholic Church are gathered here, and there are many shops serving local dishes and souvenir shops. More than 400 carp swim in the moat along the earthen walls, and about 3,000 iris plants can be viewed from late May to mid-June.
