A 1,716-metre mountain in Koshu, in the headwaters of the Tama River.
About this place
A mountain in the Isawa, Katsunuma and Nishizawa Gorge area, one of the 100 Famous Mountains of Yamanashi in the Yatsugatake and Chichibu mountains. Seen from the Tamba direction, the exposed rock at the summit resembles a cockscomb. On the east face near the source of the Kurokawa Valley remain the ruins of a gold mine that financed Takeda's war chest; rhododendrons and fireweed bloom, and you can see the Okuchichibu main ridge, the Southern Alps and Mt. Fuji.
