About this place
Koganezawayama is a mountain on the border between Otsuki and Koshu, Yamanashi Prefecture. Its elevation is 2,014.3 meters. It is the highest point in Otsuki. It is one of the 100 Famous Mountains of Yamanashi. The ridge line continuing south from Daibosatsu-rei is called the Koganezawa ridge or Koganezawa range, and this is its main peak. It is named for Koganezawa (also written with other characters), the source of the Katsuno River in the Sagami River system. When the triangulation point was first installed, it was named Amesawa-no-atama, and the name Koganezawayama was given to what is now Kuro-dake, south of this mountain.
