About this place
Jumaisan is a mountain straddling Nanbu, Minamikoma District, Yamanashi Prefecture, and Aoi Ward, Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is a twin-peaked mountain made up of Kami-Jumaisan at 1,726 m and Shimo-Jumaisan at 1,732 m, but on the Geospatial Information Authority's topographic maps Kami-Jumaisan is treated as Jumaisan. The Shizuoka side is designated Okuoi Prefectural Nature Park. It belongs to an area called the Abe-Higashi mountain range, running along the east side of the Abe River. Kami-Jumaisan has a good view, so many people visit it. The summit of Shimo-Jumaisan has no view, but about 5 minutes further north the Southern Alps can be seen in full.
