About this place
Hanamiyama Park is the name of the privately owned land of a flower-growing farming family in Fukushima, Fukushima Prefecture. It is located halfway up the hills of the Watari district on the right bank of the Abukuma River, southeast of the central urban area. The owner opens it free of charge to citizens as a park, and it draws many tourists especially in the spring cherry-blossom season. Farmers around the park also grow flowers, and flowers bloom throughout the district, so "Hanamiyama" is also used as a collective name for the whole district.
