About this place
Ikaho Onsen is a hot spring in Ikahomachi, Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture. Together with Kusatsu Onsen it is one of the prefecture's leading famous springs, and in the JoMo Karuta it is sung as 'Ikaho Onsen, Japan's famous spring'. It is registered as a regional collective trademark under 'Ikaho Onsen'. Onsen under the Hot Springs Act (defined by metasilicic acid): Shirogane no Yu On both sides of the stone steps built on a steep slope, hot spring inns, souvenir shops, amusement arcades (shooting galleries and archery), restaurants and so on stand in rows. The 365 stone steps are the symbol of the hot spring town, and this area is called Ishidan-gai (Stone Steps Street).
