About this place
Kinosaki Onsen is a hot spring in Kinosakicho, Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture. It has a long history, known since before the Heian period. In the Edo period it was called 'Kaidai Daiichisen' (the foremost spring under heaven), and the monument still remains. Along with Arima Onsen and Yumura Onsen, it is one of Hyogo Prefecture's leading hot springs. Salt spring: source temperature 37 - 83 C. All the sources are gathered at a centralised distribution and management facility built in 1972, where the average temperature is stabilised at 57 degrees, and then sent to each public bath and inn through the pipes laid throughout the town.
