About this place
Muroto Geopark (English: Muroto Geopark) is a geopark covering the whole of Muroto, Kochi Prefecture. It was certified as a Global Geopark in 2011 (Heisei 23), and since geoparks became an official UNESCO program in 2015, the name Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark (English: Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark) has also been used.
