The layout of the samurai quarter survives exactly as it was in the Edo period.
About this place
The Hagi Castle Town (English: Hagi Castle Town) is a castle town formed around Hagi Castle of the Choshu domain (Hagi domain). Mori Terumoto, whose fief was reduced to the two provinces of Suo and Nagato after his defeat in the Battle of Sekigahara in 1604 (Keicho 9), built it in parallel with Hagi Castle, and it served as the base of the Choshu domain.
