About this place
The Tokugawa Museum (The Tokugawa Museum) is a museum in Mikawa, Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture. It houses and exhibits works of art and old documents handed down in the Mito Tokugawa family. Its former name (the registered name under the Museum Act) was the Shokokan Tokugawa Museum, and on 1 April 2011, when its parent body, the Suifu Meitokukai Foundation, was reorganised as the Tokugawa Museum, a public interest incorporated foundation, it was renamed the same "Tokugawa Museum."
