About this place
The Art House Project is a project of seven works of architecture in the Honmura district of Naoshima, Kagawa District, Kagawa Prefecture, and on Inujima, in which old private houses were renovated and contemporary artists turned the house space itself into a work (installation). In 1997 it was planned, designed and carried out as part of the Naoshima Project conceived by Fukutake Soichiro of Benesse, as an attempt to renovate and remodel an old private house that existed in the Honmura district, one of the old settlements of Naoshima, and turn it into a work of contemporary art.
