About this place
Shiraito Falls is a waterfall name in Japan (this entry also covers those written "Shiraito-taki" in addition to "Shiraito no Taki"). Generally named because the falling water looks like hanging white or silk threads, many waterfalls of the same name exist across Japan. Their shapes vary from a thin waterfall like a single thread to wide ones where the water divides into many streams. Waterfalls called Shiramizu Falls and the like have the same origin.
