About this place
Oku-Oi Kojo Station is a station on the Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line in Umeji, Kawanehon, Haibara District, Shizuoka Prefecture. Its nickname is Oku-Oi Koijo Station. The station opened as a new station when part of the Ikawa Line was relocated to a new line in 1990 (Heisei 2) because it would be submerged in the dam lake by the construction of Nagashima Dam. From within the station and from the iron bridge, the old line's bridge from before the switch caused by the dam construction can be seen in full. Its elevation is 490 m. It is located at the tip of a peninsula-shaped mountain jutting out into Lake Sessoko, the reservoir of Nagashima Dam.
