About this place
Nagamachi Buke Yashiki Ato (the Nagamachi samurai residence district) is a tourist spot in Nagamachi, Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. Samurai residences of the upper and middle-class retainers of the Kaga domain stand in a row. Earthen walls and stone-paved lanes continue, letting visitors enjoy the atmosphere of the domain period. In winter, straw mats are hung to protect the earthen walls from snow and freezing. It is located to the west of Korinbo, the downtown area of Kanazawa.
