Shirayamahime Jinja
Hakusan stands with Fuji and Tateyama as one of the three sacred mountains of Japan. What this shrine venerates is water. Snow that falls on Hakusan becomes the Tedori and Kuzuryu rivers and waters the plain. The rice, the sake and the yuzen-nagashi rinsing all depend on it.
