Founded in 842, one of Japan's three great Inari shrines, honouring the gods of clothing, food and shelter. Its Edo-period two-storey gate and Chinese gate still stand.
A temple that moved to this site when Masamune entered Sendai. Its stroll garden around a pond has irises and water lilies with a three-storey pagoda behind.
