About this place
Nakayama Senmaida is about 800 terraced rice fields, large and small, in the Nakayama district in the central part of Shodoshima, also selected as one of the "100 Selected Terraced Rice Fields of Japan." This Nakayama Senmaida is old, made from the Nanbokucho period to the middle of the Edo period by clearing sloping land at an altitude of 150 to 250 meters and piling up stones. 1487 Nakayama, Shodoshima, Shozu District, Kagawa Prefecture About 2 hours 15 minutes by Kokusai Ryobi Ferry from Takamatsu Port to Shodoshima (Ikeda Port); about 5.5 km from Ikeda Port, 15 minutes by car
