Clothing Spending Is 10,063 Yen per Month | Reading the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ Family Income and Expenditure Survey, spending on “clothing and footwear” by households of two or more people in 2025 averaged 10,063 yen per month, down 1.8% in real terms. Clothing fell 4.1% in real terms, while underwear and footwear increased in real terms.
