Spring/Summer 2027 Begins Lightly | What Milan and Paris Showed
The spring/summer 2027 season has begun. Milan Fashion Week is being held from September 22 to 28, 2026.
Color is coming back
In the earlier men’s collections, many vivid colors such as red, lavender pink and mint green were proposed alongside natural tones. After several seasons of subdued tones, the rise in brightness and saturation is itself a kind of signal.
The same direction can also be seen from the materials side. At Milano Unica, Italy’s textile trade fair, expectations for linen and pastels were discussed for spring/summer 2027. The shared outlook is light and bright.
Footwear and the waist
- Low-profile shoes — Sleek silhouettes with thin soles are becoming a major trend. Bulky sneakers are decreasing in number.
- Waist emphasis — Styling that decorates the waist area with various materials such as silk and leather is on the rise.
- Top-handle bags — Proposals with a travel or resort mood are increasing.
The feet become lighter, and attention gathers around the waist. This can be read as a structure in which the center of gravity of the overall silhouette is moving from the bottom toward the middle.
Collections sketch the atmosphere a year and a half ahead. The vividness and lightness we are seeing now become a little more interesting when viewed as a preview of the mood by the time they reach store floors.
