According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Reiwa 6 Dental Disease Survey, 61.5% of people age 80 had 20 or more of their own teeth, meeting the “8020” goal, up from 51.6% in the previous survey (Reiwa 4). The share of people who had a dental checkup in the past year was 63.8%.
