According to the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), global wine consumption in 2025 was 208 million hectoliters, down 2.7% year on year. It has shrunk 14% since 2018. While 9 of the top 10 markets declined, Japan rose 6.8% to 3.3 million hl.
