Japan’s Food Exports Reach 1.7005 Trillion Yen | Record High for the 13th Consecutive Year

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan’s exports of agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products in 2025 reached 1.7005 trillion yen, up 12.8% from the previous year, marking a record high for the 13th consecutive year. Seafood grew by 17.2%, and the top export destinations were the United States, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Global Food Price Index at 136.0 Points | Highest Since November 2022

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations announced on October 2 that the Food Price Index for September 2026 was 136.0 points. It rose 1.5% from the previous month and 5.8% from the same month a year earlier, reaching the highest level since November 2022. Grains, vegetable oils and sugar pushed it upward.
