For the table in the season when UV rays are on your mind. | A delicious habit that nurtures “clarity” from within the body
When I open the window, the breeze that comes in is gradually beginning to carry the scent of early summer.
May, when fresh greenery shines beautifully. It is a season when plans to go out make the heart feel light, while before leaving home we naturally focus on protecting our skin from the “outside,” thinking, “I need to apply sunscreen properly” or “I must not forget my parasol.”
Of course, protecting bare skin from strong sunlight is very important.
But if you become focused only on care from the outside, do you ever find yourself chased by a sense of duty, thinking “I have to apply this too” or “I absolutely do not want to tan,” until skincare itself somehow becomes a slightly restrictive “task”?
If you feel even a little breathless in days like that.
This season may be the perfect time to relax your shoulders a little and care for yourself through your daily “table.”
We would like to suggest a gentle, happy habit: enjoying delicious foods from the heart while nurturing healthy clarity from within the body.
1. Eating, too, is skincare for your future self
In this season as we move toward early summer, colorful vegetables and fruits begin to sparkle on display when you look into supermarkets and greengrocers.
Seasonal ingredients grown with plenty of sunlight are packed with vitamins to help withstand harsh ultraviolet rays, and with blessings that help protect the body from oxidation.
- ▫️Ripe, bright-red tomatoes and bell peppers
- ▫️Juicy, fragrant citrus fruits such as oranges
- ▫️Asparagus with a strong green color
Of course, taking vitamin C through supplements and the like out of a sense that “I need vitamin C to prevent dark spots” is one option.
But you might also try arranging a colorful salad in your favorite bowl, or cutting fresh fruit when you wake up in the morning.
Seeing the season with your eyes, breathing in the gently spreading aroma, and savoring something delicious.
I believe that the very feeling of being satisfied through the “five senses” brings ease to a busy heart and, as a result, makes your expression look brighter and your skin look healthier.
2. The inner clarity brought by a colorful table
When you hear “inner care,” you may imagine something difficult and strict.
There is absolutely no need to bind yourself with rules like “I must not eat that” or “I have to keep doing this every day.”
✔️Try adding one seasonal tomato to your usual table
✔️Try enjoying chilled seasonal fruit instead of a snack
Such small choices that feel “delicious” and “comfortable,” accumulated one by one, gently circulate little by little through the inside of our bodies, and eventually become a source of moisture that reaches the skin.
The moment when you eat something delicious and genuinely feel, “Ah, I’m happy.”
That relaxed expression, with tension gently released, should become the finest spice that draws out your own clarity more than any expensive makeup or skincare.
3. Toward an early summer of cherishing yourself from both inside and outside
Rather than simply fearing the sun as an “enemy,” enjoy the gifts of nature deliciously while nurturing a healthy quality that seems to softly reflect light from within.
Once you can care for yourself from within in that way, doesn’t the time you spend at the washbasin each day begin to feel more loving and positive too?
With delicious meals, the “inside” is satisfied, and during your time in front of the mirror, while enjoying the pleasant feeling of touching your skin, the “outside” is gently cared for.
A moment of face washing that gently sheds impurities and cherishes the skin as if taking a deep breath.
I believe the gentle accumulation of both will become part of why you can keep your own clear smile, even under May’s dazzling light.
May you enjoy the new season with a light heart and body, feeling the breeze of early summer.
