Not Business Contacts, but Companions. | Our Way of Walking with Partners
Manufacturing cannot be done alone. The people who deliver ingredients, the people who give them shape, the people who carry products to customers. Countless hands come together to create a single product.
We do not want to call those people merely “business partners.” We want to call them by a word with a little more warmth.
How do we, the team operating Value Village, think about the people who walk alongside us? Today, please let us talk a little about our way of partnership.

To begin with, what is partnership?
We believe partnership is a relationship in which people look in the same direction beyond their positions. It is not a hierarchy of the party placing an order and the party receiving it, but a horizontal connection where we create one kind of value together. We bring together what each of us does well and make up for what the other lacks. We can share both what went well and where we stumbled. We value relationships like that. Good things can only come from good relationships. After many years of continuing to make things, this is the feeling we have arrived at.
Why do you call them “companions” rather than “business partners”?
Because words define the shape of a relationship. The moment we call someone a “business partner,” a measure of profit or loss appears. But when we call them a “companion,” what comes into view is the life we want to deliver together. We do not choose people by price alone. What matters most to us is whether we can share the same values and walk together for a long time. It may seem like just one word, but that word carries our wish for the kind of relationship we want to build.
What do you value in your relationships with companions?
Being sincere, and continuing. We do not push others into a corner with unreasonable demands. Especially when things do not go well, we communicate carefully. We do not let the relationship end after one time; we walk together next time, and the time after that. Our belief of putting people before products is directed not only toward customers, but also toward the companions who create with us. Products that care for people cannot come from relationships that do not care for people. That is why we quietly build trust first with the companions right in front of us.
How does that way of thinking come back into the products?
Good relationships always return to the bottle in your hand. With companions we can trust, we can make things properly without taking unreasonable shortcuts. Because no one is being rushed, we can protect the basics at the level they should be protected: providing moisture, preventing dryness, and keeping skin healthy. Things that can be used with peace of mind for a long time do not come from ways of making that place the burden on someone else. Behind the comfort of what you touch every day lies a calm trust among the makers.
What kind of circle do you want to expand from here?
What we imagine is a circle like a single town. From beauty to health, to food and learning, and then to community. When we expand the fields that help shape daily life, we always need companions who share the same aspirations. Not competing, but supporting one another. Not taking from one another, but nurturing together. We want to gradually grow that kind of circle of relationships. That is the future we envision as INSTINCT BROTHERS Inc.
Behind the one product that reaches your hands are the hands of many companions. We would be happy if you remembered that quiet connection from time to time. We, too, hope to be one companion who stays close to your life.
